The book is based on the notes of Emils Melngailis, arrangement and comments by Vaira Vike - Freiberga. Artist Agnese Bule. The songs in this collection are arranged according to the content themes expressed in the lyrics. In the first section you will find songs about the mythological or personified Sun, which reveal itself as a shining, generous and maternally merciful image. This is followed by a large number of wedding and wedding song melodies and other underrepresented sections. To help the non-Latvian reader better understand the English subtitles, short explanatory comments in English have been added to some of the songs. The information attached to each song about where it was recorded is noteworthy. It helps to gain insight into the distribution of songs and regional specifics. I...
