Samenvatting
This monograph displays, in an oversize format (10.75x13<">), approximately 160 photographs by Imogen Cunningham, one of America's most innovative (though overlooked) photographers. The text by Richard Lorenz (curator, and trustee of the Imogen Cunningham Trust) is presented in English, French, and German. It discusses her life from her birth in 1883, until her death at age 93, as well as her work, from early images in the Romantic pictorialism tradition, to mature work concerned with light, form, and abstract pattern. The book also contains many quotes from the artist herself, and a chronology. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews. com)
