Samenvatting	This collection of stories by June Thomson is both a homage to the creator of Sherlock Holmes and a thoroughly entertaining set of puzzles in their own right. Rescued from a battered tin dispatch-box with the name 'John H. Watson, MD, late Indian Army' painted on the lid, are seven stories to disturb yet intrigue: The Case of the Paradol Chamber recounts a remarkable return from the dead; The Case of the Hammersmith Wonder details the death of a French Nightingale; The Case of the Maplestead Magpie, when Smith meets Wesson. Baker Street devotees will discover in these detailed and faithfully devised tales vivid echoes of the Master in his prime.
