Author Irina Kotlobulatova has compiled a selection of 290 photographs spanning 150 years, from Joseph Eder's early panoramas, preserved primarily in the Lviv Historical Museum and the Stefanyk Lviv Scientific Library, to photographs from just before World War I, the interwar period, and the 1940s and 1950s. The volume concludes with a representative shot by an unknown photographer of Pope John Paul II's visit in June 2001
