Samenvatting	J. J. H. Westphal (1756-1825), organist in Schwerin, was a great admirer of the famous composer and pianist, C. Ph. E. Bach (1714-1788), musical director in Hamburg. This admiration caused Westphal to collect everything which was published about Bach from the 1780's until shortly before his own death, meticulously copying these articles into a book which he had procured especially for that purpose. There was a lively correspondence between Bach and Westphal, which vouches for the authenticity of the contents of this volume, which includes a Bach family tree. Published now, for the first time, this important work had rested all the years in the "Bibliotheque royale" in Brussels.
