Refusing to be discouraged by the inhospitable terrain or the still unwieldy and complicated equipment, they have produced panorama pictures that attempt to expand the view well beyond the human field of vision. In evocative stereo pictures they have conveyed a sense of the astonishingly varied plasticity und radiant crystalline surface of glacial formations, while their photographic series provided evidence that the layers of ice are shrinking.
