Samenvatting	When looking for a painting for the Gasunie collection I did not even have to search that long before finding it in the window of a renowned Groningen gallery. The Roman features of the Statue of Liberty, clearly defined in bronze, were silhouetted sharply against a marvellously blue sky with interesting multicoloured clouds. It was my first acqaintance with and first impression of a painting by Ger Eikendal. Your eyes could dwell on it for a long time, for there was a lot more to be seen.
